Dr Koya Ayonrinde is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist working exclusively in the southern suburbs of Perth in the public and private sector. He is a staff specialist at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Fremantle Hospital and provides endoscopy services at Bentley Hospital under the ASI program and as a visiting medical practitioner (direct referral of uninsured public patients). He has admitting rights to St John of God Murdoch Hospital, where he also performs day case colonoscopy or gastroscopy/ endoscopy procedures for privately referred patients.
Koya has clinical and research interests in general gastroenterology and general hepatology, including bowel cancer and polyp screening, coeliac disease, peptic ulcer disease, functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome, abnormal LFTs, nonalcoholic and alcoholic fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, drug-induced, autoimmune and viral hepatitis.
His other medical interests include endoscopy audit, gastroenterology and hepatology research through affiliations with The University of Western Australia and Curtin University. He has been involved in training gastroenterology registrars since 2007.
